Predictions

Linkin Park - Announced a big ass world tour with NO Australian dates - and still none announced yet - If they're not on it, I'll eat my red hat.

Good Charlotte - GTF's nu-metal meets pop punk headliners in recent years need a band that's not been here in a while and GC are back into touring the world with a new album.

Epica - They're playing two shows in Japan two days before Good Things is on. They're a high probability.

Tool - They're also playing in Japan around the dates... Would be a shame to lug all that stage equipment so close to the Southern Hemisphere and not bring it to Australia!

Better Lovers - They told Australian fans last year they were coming in 2025 - no dates yet soooo Good Things? Their UK/EU tour ends in October and then they're playing Blissmas on December 13th - you know they'll be on it.

All Time Low - They're back with new music and it's been a hot minute since they last played GTF 2018

Nine Inch Nails - If they don't do a headliner beforehand, they're a BIG potential for this.

Motionless in White - They were last here supporting I Prevail in 2022. No headliners, festivals or support slots since. They're a high demand band for this festival so let's see if they're on this edition!

Jimmy Eat World - They're overdue for a festival appearance.

Garbage - They were last here playing wineries. They need a return to an alternative festival and stat!

CREED - How do you top The Veronicas, TISM, Devo and Violent Femmes? With DAD ROCK ROYALTY THAT'S FUCKING HOW!

Refused - The Swedish hardcore punk icons are calling it a day and are yet to say if they're bringing the farewell down under. I hope they are!

Rise Against - in Australia, they've played Big Day Out, Download Festival, and Soundwave... but not Good Things!

Judas Priest - The metal icons wrapped up their Invincible Shield world tour with no Aussie dates included. They were in Japan during last year's Good Things dates though so maybe that's a good time for them to fly this way.

Machine Head - First came Soulfly, then came Sepultura then Kerry King - who's next on the metal hero list? Robb Flynn and MfnH, of course!

Cannibal Corpse // Job For a Cowboy - Corpse wasn't on Froth & Fury (which they're more suited to) and so I can't decide which of these two would be better suited as the token HEAVY band, so you can pick for me.

Sanguisugabogg - Or these loose units simply for the merch!

New Found Glory and Four Year Strong - Both bands have released new music and FYS guitarist Dan O'Connor has been filling-in for Chad Gilbert during his cancer battle. If they don't announce a tour before hand, consider this a done double deal.

Yellowcard - Speaking of pop punk, frontman Ryan Key said they'd be back sooner than later (or something of the equivalent) and with a new album and their biggest Aussie shows under their belts, they'd wanna keep that momentum building here.

Caligula's Horse - Put the Aussie prog masters on the lineup already!

Grinspoon - They're one of the OG Aussie alternative festival acts and they haven't played yet. They are touring in support of their 30th anniversary this year, so there's reason.

Dream Theater - They're back with Mike Portnoy on drums and haven't hit Aussie shores in a hot minute.

Make Them Suffer - They're on tour with Fit For A King in the US until November 30th when they pull out. The tour continues without them into December. Could they be coming home for GTF? They last played in 2023.

Beartooth - Caleb told WoS they've been spoken to about playing a festival in Australia, but didn't say the name or if they would consider it. This was also back in 2023 and you know how festivals are booked years in advance...

Left To Suffer // Seven Hours After Violet - One of these Taylor Barber bands are coming... I can feel it. And before you say Shavo's in System Of A Down though, suss the rule outs below...

Dayseeker - As if you don't want to cry/cum listening to Rory Rodriguez's swooooon-worthy vocals on a big ass festival stage.

Yours Truly - New album TOXIC deserves to be played on a big ass festival stage!

Justice for the Damned - a heavy dose of Aussie hardcore needs to be included since they've come right back into the scene with a new album.

Prompts - Have started building a following here and toured with some great Aussie bands. Japanese metal missed out last year, so kickstart the trend again with them!

Band-maid - If the Japanese bands return, it's time for Band-maid to show the Aussie scene what they can do.

Gyroscope - Like Grinners, these guys were kings of the Aussie festival scene in the 2000s

Potential Reunion // Anniversary Sets

Finch - Correct me if I'm wrong but they were last here in 2014 on Soundwave before they split. They're back playing shows here and there and that's well over a decade between visits. They were also the very first band I interviewed when WoS started, so I need to see them live for selfish reasons.

Brand New - A BIG comeback from the post-hardcore/emo scene who announced a 2025 US tour and fans turned out in droves for them - dividing the internet. Nothing else added outside of the states yet.

Amy Meredith - When Short Stack were big on the radio, another Aussie band named Amy Meredith were blowing up at the same time with bangers like 'Lying', 'Pornstar' and 'Young At Heart'.

Bloodhound Gang - Not only did they say they're back via band member socials, but this year marks the 20th anniversary of Hefty Fine - so why not come back and play it in full?!

Poison The Well - They came back big time and dropped new music back in January - also teasing a new album incoming - could they round the year up down under?

Faker - Sure they're more of a Splendour or Laneway band, but seeing as GTF support Aussie bands, they could be hotly tipped to feature. Debut album Addicted Romantic turns 20 this year.

The Vines - did you know The Vines reunited in 2023? Because I fucking didn't and now all I want is for them to be on this lineup. Imagine the mayhem when they play the opening riff of 'Get Free'

Ruled Out // Probably Not Coming

Don't expect any bands from the Froth & Fury and Park Waves lineups.

System Of A Down - Daron is playing a Scars on Broadway gig in LA on December 5th - This rules the whole band out.

Avenged Sevenfold // Meshuggah - Both names have been tossed around like a beach ball at a Nickelback concert (IYKYK) and I'd rather see them at Knotfest - and no I don't know if it's coming back or not.

Marilyn Manson, Falling In Reverse, Slaughter To Prevail, Shinedown, While She Sleeps, Hanabie and Fit For An Autopsy - will be at Knotfest Mexico on Dec 6th

My Chemical Romance - They're playing select festival and stadium shows around the world and are doing South East Asia in May 2026. Would assume we'd get them around then instead.

Sleep Token - (Updated) They were here last year supporting BMTH. Before that a small headliner tour in venues they are way too big to play again, so my assumption would be an arena-sized headline tour next.

Yungblud + Ecca Vanda - both on Limp Bizkit's Loserville South America tour during the dates.

Pierce The Veil - doing their own eras tour headliner instead. Announced Tuesday AUG 5th.

Soulfly + Max Cavalera bands - Soulfly is here for Froth & Fury, and Max is doing double duties with a Nailbomb set as well. I don't see him here before then.

Hatebreed - They're planning their own headliner here for the Summer Slaughter Tour. Probably in early 2026.

Chelsea Grin + Signs Of The Swarm + Crown Magnetar - touring Europe.

Ghost - Tobias Forge said he doesn't like playing festivals after they appeared at Download Fest Australia in 2018. I think their next move is a bigger headliner (just like Sleep Token).

All Shall Perish + PeelingFlesh + Vulvodynia - touring Europe during the dates (also rules out Suicide Silence)

Killswitch Engage, Decapitated and Employed to Serve - Their Euro tour wraps on Dec 3rd, not enough time to get here + Jesse Leach said they're keen on a headliner.

Iron Maiden - I bet you $500 they won't be on it.

Turnstile - I think they'd pop up on a triple j type of festival again, rather than a Good Things. Is Splendour back next year?

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Doing their own orchestral and rock shows during the dates

Bloodywood - During our recent interview with Raoul Kerr, they stated visa issues have staled their first tour down under.  Put them on the backburner... although he could have been bluffing.

The Plot In You + Fit For A King + Boundaries - touring Aus in January 2026 (Fit For A King also doing US tour with Spite and 156/Silence during the dates).

Avril Lavigne - Rumour has it she was supposed to be on last year's lineup but took another offer. I think that ship has sailed to have her appearing.

AC/DC + Amyl & The Sniffers - Playing a show in Perth on Dec 4th

Crowded House - Playing Freo Prison on Dec 5th

Shannon Noll - Doing his acoustic tour during the dates.

Simple Plan + Bowling For Soup - Simps were just here with Offspring. They're currently touring with Bowling For Soup (who were teasing a return to Aus not long ago). I'd say we're getting SP's 25th Birthday Tour down under at some point instead.

Whitechapel, Bodysnatcher, Angelmaker, Disembodied Tyrant - touring the US

Till Lindemann - will be in Turkey (also rules out Rammstein).

ADEPT - The Swiss metalcore OGs announced a comeback in May but they're touring Europe during the dates with Ocean Sleeper and Thousand Below. So they're all out too.

coldrain - touring Europe

Nothing More in UK.

Lacuna Coil - wrap up Euro Tour on December 1st with Non Point.

Man With A Mission - touring Japan

LANDMVRKS and Underoath - in Europe.

Bands touring Australia around GTF dates

Metallica + Evanescence + Suicidal Tendencies - They're touring Aus in November instead.

Architects, House Of Protection + President - touring Australia the week after Good Things!

Opeth - Also touring Australia in November.

SPEED + Scowl (USA)- Both playing a festival on the NSW Central Coast on December 6th

Bullet For My Valentine - Touring October

The Ghost Inside + Bleed From Within - ditto!

Stray From The Path - Are doing their final Australian Tour next week - go see them, or I'll fight you.

Scary Kids, Scaring Kids + A Skylit Drive - touring November

Franz Ferdinand - Doing an Aus Tour just before.

Sabaton + Amaranthe - touring in September

Don Broco - Aus tour lined up for September

Kim Dracula + Wednesday 13 - touring Aus in November

Dying Fetus + 200 Stab Wounds - touring December - same dates as GTF

That's it for now. As more bands announce tours and eliminate themselves from contention, we'll be updating our Rolling Coverage all the way until the gates open in December.

Check back any time for all the info you need to have the goodest day out.
