Three Days Grace Deliver 'Apologies' Ahead Of Alienation Album Announcement

After shocking the world in 2024 by reuniting with founding member and original vocalist Adam Gontier, Three Days Grace have kept the surprises coming with a new song from a forthcoming album titled Alienation (out August 22nd) - which will be the first full length to feature Gontier since 2012s Transit of Venus - to celebrate the Canadian Hard Rock quintet have released latest single ‘Apologies’ to kickstart the new Three Days Grace 2X era.
The 2X reflecting on the band carrying on with current vocalist Matt Walst (ex-My Darkest Days) to combine both iterations of the bands history, ‘Apologies’ plays to the strength of both men on the same fields that their comeback single ‘Mayday’ did in 2024. Whilst being more on the melodic ballad side compared to the aforementioned single, it doesn’t stop Gontier shining through latter choruses with his signature grit and moving passion with Walst in tow providing accompanying harmonies which are more reminiscent of his time in My Darkest Days.
Hand in hand with a signature sound and style that will take users back 20 years ago, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the band never had a moment away from their peak MySpace days of radio domination. Driven by the talented drum work of Neil Sanderson, ‘Apologies’ won’t fit on a future WWE game soundtrack (That’s where we all found them to begin with, right?). Where it will fit however, is straight into a catalogue full of incredibly passionate and emotionally honest discretions that will resonate in the hearts of many that have struggled with mental anguish, the perils of addiction and tribulations of self promises often broken. ’Apologies’ is a great step forward into the future of 3DG with just enough nostalgia to fuel the hearts of the diehards.
Speaking of 20 years, it’s now been 2 decades since Gontier and co have been on Australian shores. In a previous 2022 interview with Wall Of Sound's Ricky Aarons, bassist Brad Walst did mention that Australia was one of the band's best tours and our country is a special place. Here’s hoping we see the Canadian rockers in the near future off the back of this huge comeback and new album. That’ll be the only ‘Apologies’ that Three Days Grace will truly owe anyone.
