After a solid six months of iso in Melbourne, Aussie rockers Slowly Slowly are ready to kick things into gear for 2021 with their brand new single 'Comets & Zombies'. Featuring pop punky riffs intertwined through vulnerable lyrics, the song is loosely inspired by the tragic love story between two acquaintances of frontman Ben Stewart. The pair sadly passed away from drug addiction. The singer shares:

"I think there is something tragically beautiful about the love between people who are burdened with a self destructive predisposition...I was really inspired not by the circumstance of their passing, but by their beautiful love for each other – it was palpable and timeless in an almost "Romeo + Juliet" like fashion. It's yet another song for the pile of 'love conquers all'."

There's some pretty exquisite songwriting happening here, which I kinda love and I can't help but feel for this tragic love song. With a bunch of sold out shows in January and a national tour slated for June, Slowly Slowly are sure as hell setting themselves up for a big 2021 indeed!
