Silent Planet Ignite A War Against Injustice With New Track ‘Wick’

Silent Planet has long prioritised their dedication to humanity over the aesthetics of music, creating a fan base that shares the same interests and fosters a love and respect like no other. Today, the band has yet again put their mentality into action with the release of ‘Wick’, a powerful anthem harvesting hope for the youth, and re-personifying the bodies consumed by warfare and injustice.

‘Wick’ immediately charges out of the gates with an invigorated passion and clearly directed aggression that almost makes you stop in your tracks. Instrumentally, the mysteriousness and haunting energy that were ever-present within SUPERBLOOM persist, seeing the song comfortably finding a home within the 2023 album. So too, this same feeling crawls through vocally, particularly noticeable within the chorus as Garrett Russell’s notes twist and tantalise, wrapping up the microphone and onwards around your throat.

The track offers a new dynamicness- a band redefining their sound through elements of a successful past, and hopes for an even better future, both musically and physically.

One thing remains unwavering, and that is Silent Planet’s use of voice as the weapon. The song was available early throughout the week on Bandcamp for a small fee, all of which was donated to the “Return of Childhood” foundation. This organisation has a central focus on ensuring Ukrainian children are given a chance within their childhood- whether that be the essence of normality or the ability to thrive, despite the warfare that looms.

The band shared a powerful sentiment:

“The Youth will outlast the tyrant and plant sunflowers on his grave”.

‘Wick’ is available to stream now.
