High Wind Back Up Windwvker EP With 'Slipping Away'

Whilst we're all missing blessthefall dearly, members Conor White, Jared Warth and Elliott Gruenberg, along with engineer Ryan Daminson, have collectively formed a side-project called High Wind. Earlier this year, the Arizona crew released their debut single 'Windwvker' followed by their three-track EP a few weeks later, also titled Windwvker. The release included two additional singles, 'Ragnarok' and 'Iron Throne'.
blessthefall fans gave high praise to High Wind, particularly in the absence of any new material from the other half of the Beau Bokan-led four-piece. Well, only months later and High Wind are back with a brand new tune, this one titled 'Slipping Away'.
The single commences in the style of one of the slower/melodic blessthefall tracks, but quickly varies with a mixture of uncleans. With crunchier production and continued experimental vocals, High Wind explores a softer and more open-ended direction musically, with an opportunity for the band members to stretch the boundaries of their primary outfit. The new single suggests the Windwvker EP may have got the 'heavy' out of their system... for now anyway. Let's see what else these guys have up their sleeves this year.
