It's been epic release after release this year for Future Static. Gracing us with the release of their latest single, 'The Hourglass', it feels like the Naarm/Melbourne band are solidifying themselves as one of the best-emerging acts on the scene.

Future Static finished 2022 on a high and this year, have been full-throttle. Dropping the absolute banger 'Gasolina', a heavy cover of the Daddy Yankee club classic- the band have poured energy into creating not just incredible music but impressive visuals to go along with it. Announcing last month that their debut album Liminality will be dropping on November 24th, they have given us another taste of what is to come with 'The Hourglass'.

The Halo Effect Australian Tour

The metalcore-inspired track, which also showcases elements of gothic metal and post-hardcore style guitar riffs, is one of their most mature tracks yet. Riffs that dance over a heavy rhythm section make 'The Hourglass' dynamic and diverse. Vocalist Amariah Cook displays once again not only her impressive range, but just how genuinely drenched in emotion her lyrical content is. There feels like a nod to the sound of late 00's post-hardcore, adding a real nostalgic vibe to this killer track.

Once again, the band does not miss with the visuals either. Dark, haunting and grim- the music video doesn't disappoint. With the captivating storyline and obviously carefully curated production, there is no doubt that Future Static are helping bring back the art of a well-produced music video.
