Just when you thought it was safe to venture into New Music territory, a plethora of bangin' tunes have been release from Australian and international flavours which we obvs need to talk about.
From more cowboy core to Aussie metalheads and a former Code Orange Queen - it's all here in our beefy new music wrap up from the week that was...
Gideon - 'Till The Wheels Fall Off'
“All gas, no brakes” is the ultimate way to describe Alabama’s favourite outlaw metalcore act Gideon, and they have truly harnessed that power in their new track ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off’. Taking it up a notch by signing on to current powerhouse label Sumerian Records, this new single marks the start of the next era for Gideon.
The band reacquainted their love affair with Aussie audiences earlier this year, helping send off Void of Vision in tremendous fashion. With Sumerian Records allowing the band to take the reins, it appears this is only the beginning of what is on the horizon.
"We've always done things our way, and Sumerian Records believed in the vision. This song is a tribute to the miles behind us and the road ahead. We're not here for a pit stop—we're here to break the speedometer. With Sumerian in the passenger seat, we're going 'Til the Wheels Fall Off,” says the band.
Hitting us with their signature aggression combined with a little bit of bounce, it’s obvious they are having a lot of fun in their composition. Chunky riffs, heavy breakdowns and moments that give off an almost Lamb Of God and Pantera vibe- it’s not your standard metalcore track. But as always, Gideon are lone rangers in their sound and ‘Till The Wheels Fall Off’ captures that vibe wonderfully.
Let’s hope there is an album soon to come. Stream 'Till The Wheels Fall Off' Here.

Nicholas Cage Fighter - 'I Watched You Burn'
Ballarat legends Nicolas Cage Fighter have kicked off their new era with the incendiary single, ‘I Watched You Burn’. It’s our first preview episode of new sophomore album I Watched You Burn, out September 12, 2025. The hardcore warriors have also announced an alliance with Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution, a division of Nuclear Blast Records, for all their upcoming releases.
‘I Watched You Burn’ continues the metal infused hardcore of their first album The Bones That Grew From Pain (2022). The video features the band playing and thrashing about, while a young man watches war and protests on TV. He eventually takes a petrol can and sets the room on fire. The band meanwhile find themselves surrounded by flames as the song reaches its crescendo.
The band recently made headlines when the almighty Nicolas Cage acknowledged the band named after him. Not only has he listened to them, he quoted the song ‘Compound and Fracture’. Back in May, in response to a reader question, Cage told :
“I am familiar with a hard rock band out of Australia called Nicolas Cage Fighter, and I think they’re terrific. Their songs are empowering. The lyrics are all about taking ownership of your mistakes, never being a victim, figuring out how you can fix your problems. “Re-evaluate your life / Focus on yourself / Look me in the eyes again / Tell me that none of this is your fault.” They’re not afraid to write songs that are about where you have to own up to your mistakes.”

Reba Meyers - 'Clouded World'
With Code Orange on hiatus, guitarist/vocalist Reba Meyers has been hella busy. Not only has she been touring with Marilyn Manson, she’s dropped her third solo single. ‘Clouded World’ is the title track from her debut album, coming in 2026. It continues to explore 90s alt rock, with legendary producer Steve Albini helping her record it before his death.
It’s a hard rocking turn, recalling grunge bands like L7, with appropriately screeching lead guitar. It’s a change of pace from the industrial hardcore of Code Orange, but a style Meyers previewed on the track ‘Mirror’ from the band’s most recent album, .
Meyers reveals the intent behind ‘Clouded World’:
"Too many aspects of the modern human condition feel entirely over-labored and orchestrated. We have drifted far from our primal instincts and have gotten so distracted by the myriad tools at our fingertips that we forget that our human imperfections are the one thing that makes us special and unpredictable."

DepriVation - 'Mistakes Were Made'
One of my fav takeaways from doing breakfast radio in Orange, NSW (Chris & Browny for life) was finding local heroes DepriVation and attending as many shows I could where they were tearing up the stage. A staple on Wall Of Sound since the podcast years, the band have achieved greatness during those ten years which found then representing Australia at Wacken Open Air in Germany in 2023 and playing a stack of local and national support slots in Australia since.
They've made a quick comeback with a brand new song called 'Mistakes Were Made' which brings forth the guitars front and centre before frontman Ben Weber spits venom in your face with a rusty growl approach that'll make your skin crawl (in the best way possible). There's something for everyone, including a groovy two-step inducing section and plenty of drum fills guaranteed to get you moving. With a sexy Lachlan Harrison guitar solo for good measure, the band will tick all the right boxes for metalheads across the country.
DepriVation are unrelenting in their approach to making metal and are one of the best at staying true to their core sound after all these years.

Indigo Blaze - 'Got Pace'
There is genuinely no more invigorating band in the scene right now than Indigo Blaze, and lucky for us, they have been on FIRE at the moment. Fresh off the back of ‘D1’, the Perth heavyweights have hit back, charged and striking with new single ‘Got Pace’.
Authentically Aussie and so intoxicatingly noisy, ‘Got Pace’ is an instant booty shaker. The new track is two minutes of pure chaos and unquestionable intensity. With all the bells and whistles of a classic nu-metal staple, ‘Got Pace’ gets twisted within an authentic and irreplaceable homegrown flair. It is within these recent releases that Indigo Blaze has truly crafted their robust sound signature, making sure you know a track is one that hails from the WA boys, before the chorus has even hit.
Nothing has been consuming my brain more than their recent tracks, and leaving on a note of “we’ll be back again”, Indigo Blaze’s residency in my brain is set to stay.
