Avril Lavigne Secretly Revealed She's On Another MOD SUN Song!

Just in case you've been living under a rock these past few months, you might have missed the news that early 2000s skater girl/pop punk princess Avril Lavigne has returned in her first song release since her 2019 album, Head Above Water. She appears as a guest vocalist on MOD SUN's latest single, 'Flames' in the lead up to his brand new album, Internet Killed The Rockstar which dropped last Friday (suss our review here).

The album is right up your alley if you dug the latest Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud releases late last year, but if you're a sucker for nostalgic 2000s pop punk/rock, then I reckon you'll enjoy MOD SUN's release even more! Tracks like 'Flames', 'Karma' and 'Betterman' have taken a mad beating on my daily playlist, but there's another song on the album that I'd like to highlight here.

It's nine songs in, but 'Annoying' is quickly becoming one of my new favourite songs. Yeah, it's an annoyingly cute song about being in love, but it emanates infectious pop punk melodies that make up for it and kinda just makes you wanna blast this in your car, windows down alongside your other half. But listen even closer, and you'll hear a distinct female voice in the background that kinda sounds like... Avril Lavigne!

While Avril isn't officially credited on the song, this additional collab has definitely been confirmed by the powerhouse musical duo on social media (if you're a mad sleuther, suss the comments on MOD SUN's Instagram below:

According to the legend himself, 'Annoying' almost didn't make it onto the album, revealing last week on Twitter:

In saying that, now that we've heard Avril appear on not one but two songs on his album, the question we all want to know the answer is... how many tracks will MOD SUN feature on in Avril Lavigne's forthcoming album (which I hear has just been completed)? Stay tuned...
