EXCLUSIVE: PSTCRDS Discuss Isolation Songs + Debut New Track 'Memories' Feat. Liam Guinane

PSTCRDS are gearing up to release their new EP, This Place Or Our Pace tomorrow (suss our review here first), which is gonna give you four upbeat new songs to jam to in isolation. Because let's be honest now, music really is what's getting us all through Covid-19 and this period, and we're all longing for the day we can finally experience music in a live atmosphere again. I know we're still a while from it all, but we're all living for the moment we can see our favourite band live, throw down in the moshpit, high five friends new and old, making memories.
We caught up with the guys from PSTCRDS, who shared five songs that were getting them through iso, from State Champs to Polaris. In return, they're giving us an exclusive listen of a brand new track called 'Memories'. The upbeat, summery song will take you back to feelgood memories of gigs in the summer and hanging out with mates, and has a cameo spot from Reside frontman Liam Guinane.
Steven Reid (vocals): 'Quicksand' - The Story So Far
One of the first songs I ever heard by The Story So Far was 'Quicksand', and up until last year they had been on my top list of bands I needed to see live. Seeing them live definitely lived up to what I hoped for, and listening to 'Quicksand' and the rest of the Under Soil and Dirt album makes me think back to pre-isolation times and forward to post-iso times when we can all get back into the swing of live music bigger and better than before.

Henry Holzberger (guitar): 'Lowlife' - Neck Deep
I’ve always been a huge Neck Deep fan, with their album Life’s Not Out To Get You being the first I heard. Ever since then they’ve been one of my favourite bands, and this new direction they’re heading in might be my favourite yet. I think it makes me look forward even more to the post-isolation rush of music, both for us as a band and also for all our favourite artists. It’s bound to be nothing short of spectacular.

Tom Pockett (guitar/vocals): 'Above My Head' - Polaris
Honestly this song gets me pumped enough every time I listen to it to forget we’re in isolation completely. 'Above My Head' is such a great song start to finish, with the instrumental work and the lyrics complementing each other perfectly throughout. If you’re not playing this track at full volume you’re listening to it wrong.

Brad Reid (bass/vocals): 'Cut Through the Static' - State Champs
I really like this song and State Champs have always been a massive influence on me musically. I saw them at UNIFY Gathering 2019 and immediately wanted to aim for the same level of performance they were giving. It’s a great memory to carry me through iso, and more reason to practice my own playing.

Jack Stewart (drums): 'Race Car Blues' - Slowly Slowly
Just a really good, solid song. Really big fan of this band, and listening to their countless banger tracks has been getting me through isolation and keeping me excited for it to come out the other side.
