Thankfully, the masterminds over at Darkside Music have heard our pleas, announcing a quarterly event series that fosters upcoming talent and provides a safe environment for music communities and spaces to truly thrive.
Fresh Blood aims to give even more life to the fresh pulse running through the Australian heavy music scene, ensuring smaller bands and established acts with new material have a stage that allows them to project their mission, identity, and music outward. The shows present a symbiotic relationship for all parties involved; giving music fans an opportunity to broaden their listening horizons, propelling bands at pivotal moments of their career, and hosting a haven for tastemakers and critics alike. All the work has truly been done for you!
The first instalment boasts a killer lineup, seeing Total Buzzkill rally the charge. Joining these powerhouses for the run are Adelaide up-and-comers, Down and Out. But that’s not all! The three dates of the first instalment feature a rotating lineup of third supports; Melbourne welcoming Wall Of Sound favs Soulsleep, Wollongong with the heart-churning Sunless, and Sydney with the ever dynamic Bridge Left To Burn!
The inclusive community continues to thrive beyond the stage lights. Each show will welcome the art of local tattoo artists, showcasing available options for your next body decorations! And if you still had some energy left, be sure to stay around after the encore for an extended Emo Night hosted by Last Words - the new champions of side-fringe shaking bangers!
The inaugural instalment of Fresh Blood is set to take place in Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong from early to mid-November, so there’s still time to make it a big event to attend with your friends and favourite festival heads!
