Blacken Open Air Festival is back on for 2022 and will feature 40 bands hitting the stage on Arrernte country, at Inteyerrkwe, Ross River Resort in the Northern Territory from July 29th to August 1st. Containing the likes of an Australian exclusive headline performance from American tech death titans Revocation, the event will also cater to a vast array of metal genres and bands including Amyl and the Sniffers, Psycroptic, Shepherds Reign (New Zealand), Abramelin, Lagerstein, Hadal Maw, Southeast Desert Metal, Ruins, Miazma, The Neptune Power Federation, Mountain Wizard Death Cult, R U N, Diploid, Astrodeath, 100YearsWar, Descend to Acheron, Myriad Drone, Fuxache, Diskust, Potion, Lo!, C.O.F.F.I.N, Suldusk, Black Rheno, Hammers, SNAKES, Growth, The Furor, DEAD, Fleshvoid, Jeremy Whiskey, The Holy Dimes, Xanadoom, Mulga Bore Hard Rock, Nglah, Whet, Slugboiler, 3wayjays and Tombfeeder!
Event organisers are stoked to bring much of the 2021 lineup back which had to be postponed due to ongoing state and territory restrictions during the pandemic:

After three long and arduous years, Blacken Open Air announces its return to the Dead Centre of Australia. This winter, we will gather together on Arrernte country, at Inteyerrkwe, Ross River Resort. With national and international borders opening, we feel we can finally make this happen. A limited amount of early bird tickets are on sale now at blackenfestival.com. We want to give a heartfelt thanks to those of you who have held onto your 2021 tickets. They have been automatically transferred to the new dates. You legends have kept the dream alive.
