Black metal is not for the faint of heart. The extreme music produced by bands from or around the Norwegian areas is nothing short of mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time. But if you can stomach otherworldly growls, gutturals and face pummelling riffs, then you're in good company.
MORK have been staying true to their True Halen Black Metal tagline for decades and in early January we're getting to witness this display of musicianship around Australia, but before we get there, we're checking in with the band and they year they had with our next #WoSYearInReview...

WHICH AUSTRALIAN BAND' CAN'T YOU GET ENOUGH OF?
ACCA DACCA!!!
BEST GIG YOU PLAYED THIS YEAR AND WHY?
That has to be our first voyage out on the Caribbean seas between Miami and Jamaica. We did two shows on the 70k Tons of Metal cruise, and it’s the complete package of experiences that makes it whole if that makes sense. An evening in Miami, a couple of days on a free cruise and a day on Jamaica. Good crowds, good people and a lot of beer.
TELL US ABOUT A CAREER HIGHLIGHT YOU HAD IN 2025
That would be the shaping and production of the new and upcoming MORK album. This one marks the best work I’ve done thus far and feels bigger and better than any previous feelings I’ve had before the unveiling of an album.
WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATE OF NEW MUSIC?
The current state of music in general is in dangerous jeopardy. Man is destroying himself by creating Artificial Intelligence. As it was not bad enough with the streaming services that makes music and art worthless more or less, they even create a tool that writes music on it’s own. Let me off the ride.. I’ve had enough.
Current state of MORK music is as mentioned above; better than ever. We have to keep proving that real art comes from real humans. I haven’t lost all hope yet.
ANY SNEAK PEEKS OF INBOUND PLANS NEXT YEAR?
Already in January we will visit Asia again, and Australia for the first time ever. The latter one has been a long time coming and a goal for a long while. Now finally. The new album will surface sometime in the new year and we will play festivals and do some touring. Keeping the flame of MORK burning for at least another more year.

BEST ADVICE GOING INTO 2026?
Buy physical albums, merch and concert tickets. Neglect A.I and use a bit less of the streaming stuff. Oh, and join the MORK legion, pay attention and see you out there!
