Yes, we know Hollywood has run out of ideas and they're just rebooting and franchising old films for new-age audiences.... but this one sounds and feels different.
Remember the old horror flick Anaconda from 1997 starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube? Well, the film is getting a reboot as an action-horror-comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black and if the first trailer is anything to go by, it'll be a whole lot of fun this Christmas period.
The synopsis reads:
"Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since they were kids, and have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic "classic" Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed."
Throw in a cast of notables including Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, a killer snake, a Gold Coast film set with plenty of slapstick comedy and you have the perfect storm to escape the family on Boxing Day.
