How was 2022? Well look, I was less depressed than in 2020 and 2021 BUT let's just keep it short and say she burnt the eff out! The second half of my year saw me not really going to many shows or listening to much new music (hence my sadly cut down Top Album list. I really spent most of my time listening to Windy and Thorny) and my Wall of Sound work took a hit. But she’s working hard at therapy and getting diagnosed with and medicated for ADHD so stay tuned to see what 2023 brings!

BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF 2022
Windwaker - 'Beautiful'
BEST GIG YOU CAUGHT THIS YEAR?
Aussie Band - Windwaker both times I saw them. First with Will for the Beautiful Tour and then with Liam supporting Enter Shikari. Second place to Polaris at Good Things, I was so damn proud to see how far they have come and how much they owned the stage. Should have been on main stage!
International Band - All of Good Things!! It was the happiest I had been in so long and I was like an excited child all day. Internationally, Electric Callboy was a highlight.
FAVOURITE CONTRIBUTION YOU PRODUCED?
My interview with Indey from Windwaker. I spoke to him the day before Love Language came out and I was soooo excited for the world to hear the album. He was super fun and rad to talk to.
FAV NEW BAND/MUSICIAN DISCOVERED IN 2022
Holding Absence - 'Afterlife' grabbed me from the second I heard it and the rest of The Greatest Mistake of My Life is so good. The pipes on Lucas Woodland are chefs kiss.
Thornhill - I know they aren’t new but I FINALLY made it onto the Thorny train. I always liked them but was a casual listener. Heroine made me obsessed and seeing them KILL IT to a huge crowd at Good Things cemented my love.
Miami Boys Choir - This is half a joke, half not. The grip this BANGER had/still has on me is redic. TikTok has rotted my brain but I am so glad. Just do me a favour and watch this absolute gold.
NEXT BIG AUSSIE ACT TO WATCH IN 2023
Polaris - they are already HUGE and I’ve been a fan for years but these boys are ready. They are ready to take their rightful place as headliners of the biggest festivals worldwide. MARK MY WORDS- 2023 will be a huge year for them.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2023
Actually getting back to what I love - going to shows and doing stuff for Wall of Sound. Also not to alarm you but it's only a couple of months to My Chemical Romance (AANNND Jimmy Eat World)!!!! I am already working out what I am going to wear. Keen for Knotfest and Alexisonfire as well.
I am also keen to clock up another Windwaker show and hope to see Holding Absence and Thousand Below.
