You know you're getting old when your fav bands from your youth start releasing documentaries about their rise to fame...
The latest outfit to jump on the doco train is none other than Canadian pop punk heroes Simple Plan who are celebrating 25 years as a band with the release of The Kids In The Crowd Documentary - streaming now exclusively on Prime.
The streaming event special documents the conception of Simple Plan's biggest hits 'I'm Just A Kid', 'I'd Do Anything' and 'Perfect' along with their growth within the mainstream and alternative music scenes where they gained notoriety for their upbeat antics and commercially successful anthems which raised a generation of former emo kids and resulted in the band selling out arenas and stadiums around the world.
The feature also includes cameos from longtime friends and collaborators Mark Hoppus, Avril Lavigne, Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray) and Jacoby Shaddix (Para Roach). The band have also stated former member David Desrosiers will be included as he was an integral part of the band's early years before departing in 2020.
On the news, guitarist Chuck Comeau shares:
“We’re so excited for our fans to finally see all that we’ve been working on to create this documentary over the past few years. I’m so proud of how we’ve grown as a band, from starting in my parents’ basement to performing in stadiums, we hope our fans will love watching our story. Keep watching for a surprise snippet of our new song, ‘Nothing Changes’, which we can’t wait for fans to hear!”

Speaking of new music, the boys will also release the official soundtrack on Friday, July 11th - which includes previously unreleased demos from 1999-2000, a live version of 'Where I Belong' and that aforementioned new track 'Nothing Changes'.
