The reggae punx from Japan, SiM, have been busy. Not only have they been hitting some of the world’s biggest music festivals (including pulling a huge crowd at Download Fest UK), but they have also been busy in the studio to give us some new tracks. With their new album PLAYDEAD coming out via UNFD on September 27th, their second single ‘DO THE DANCE’ is out and already racking up the plays.

Despite already having a huge following in Japan, overseas audiences only recently started giving the band their flowers. SiM burst into popularity coming off their Billboard chart-topping single ‘The Rumbling’, the opening theme song to popular anime Attack On Titan’s last season, part two. Following on from ‘The Rumbling’, the band released ‘RED’ and has been riding the wave that is so thoroughly deserved.

Their latest release ‘DO THE DANCE’ follows a similar vibe of heavy-as-hell choruses and breakdowns, but it is the funky verses that really gives this track its own flavour. Somehow giving metalcore a ska infusion, it is a sound that is so uniquely SiM. Infectious, exciting and an overall earworm, we challenge you not to skank to this.
