It's not very often multi-media crosses genres like this, but horror/slasher fans will be squealing with excitement over the latest released trailer from the forthcoming Halloween video game - so let's dive in!
Presented by IllFonic, Gun Interactive, Compass International Pictures and Further Front: Halloween thrusts players behind the controls of The Boogeyman aka Michael Myers - as he terrorises the fictional town of Haddonfield on Halloween night. Set in 1978, the concept is pretty simple - kill, murder and maim residents without drawing attention to your brutal slayings as you pick off NPC residents one by one OR play as the locals in a collaborative multiplayer mode (with up to four players) as you try to thwart The Shape's advances by working together to escape the clutches of evil.

With gameplay and graphics similar to the sensational ill-fated Friday the 13th videogame which released back in 2017, this offering is set to deliver high stakes brutal slashings certainly guaranteed to give horror fanatics the thrills they so rightfully deserve.
The synopsis reads:
We are proud to present an extended first look at gameplay for Halloween, our upcoming singleplayer and multiplayer horror experience. Players can become the Boogeyman or save their neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in this dynamic horror sandbox. Asymmetrical horror comes home to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 8, 2026.

Given the success the Friday the 13th game resulted in and the community it spawned, it was only a matter of time before another horror film franchise was given the same attention. With reports of an updated Friday the 13th game reboot in the works and this freshly announced Halloween game, horror and gaming fans are certainly eating well.
