2025 EuroSound Song Contest Has Launched

It’s that time again! Our 2025 EuroSound Song Contest is here.

We’ve found 20 of the best heavy tracks from Europe and the United Kingdom and it is up to you to vote for the winner! Check out all 20 songs in the playlists below and share your votes on your socials with the hashtag #WoSEuroSound - don’t forget to tag Wall of Sound and the band.

The Rules: 

  • Songs must have been released as singles or on EPs/Albums since July 1st 2024
  • Bands and songs are listed under a country listed in their biography, even though members might have been born elsewhere.
  • Vote for your five favourite songs from the contenders. Your first place gets 5 points, second gets 4 points, third gets 3 points, and then it’s 2 and 1 for your last two spots in order. 
  • You can’t vote for the same song more than once per entry. You can enter up to 10 times. 
  • Voting closes Friday 16 May with the winner announced on Sunday 18 May

Introducing the 2025 EuroSound Contenders

Austria - Vulvarine - ‘Equal, Not the Same’ (Napalm Records)

Firecracking rock n roll with a punk ethos who preach empowerment but don’t take themselves too seriously. 

Belgium - Amenra ‘Forlorn’ (Relapse Records)

Post-metal from Kortrijk who specialise in sonic contrasts and should get votes alongside the more extreme acts contending this year. 

Croatia - Manntra ‘Teuta’ (Napalm Records)

Umag hard rockers with a flair for the dramatic and hooks to match.

Czechia - No Face No Case ‘Overdrive’ (PRGBD)

A collaboration with The Browning and Spawn of Disgust that pushes nu-metalcore to the limit and will win a lot of new listeners.

Denmark - Vola ‘Break My Lying Tongue’ (Mascot Records)

Prog metallers from Copenhagen, back for their second go at the EuroSound prize if their cult fanbase gets down to voting.

Finland - The Rasmus ‘Creatures of Chaos’ (Playground Music / Better Noise Music)

Past EuroVision contestants who have reteamed with Desmond Child for another banger and look to go further in EuroSound than they did in EuroVision.

France - Landmvrks ‘Sulfur’ (Arising Empire)

French metalcore from Marseille whose new album rips. They came close to winning with ‘Creature’ in 2024 so how will ‘Sulfur’ measure up?

Germany - Caliban ‘I Was A Happy Kid Once’ (Century Media Records)

Metalcore veterans from Essen who know a good breakdown matched with clean vocals brings the girls to the yard.

Greece - 1000mods ‘Overthrown’ (Independent) 

Heavy rock from Chiliomodi, with a strong political message and desire to change the world.

Ireland - Waylander ‘Ages of Éireann’ (Stonecircle Studios) 

Our most unique contender mixes Irish folk metal with groove and some excellent tin whistle and mandolin.

Italy - Lacuna Coil ‘I Wish You Were Dead’ (Century Media Records) 

Milan’s metal kings for 30 years are being entered in our contest for the final time. Will this catchy single finally be voted the top song?

Portugal - Gaerea ‘Coma’ (Season of Mist)

Post-black metal bands who are ready to emerge from the underground with a unique sound.

Spain’s most popular power metal band who don’t believe in doing anything by halves.

Sweden - Thrown ‘look at me’ (Arising Empire)

Combining hardcore punk with metalcore their debut album is a riot. Sweden have placed every year but never won. Will a new band break the seal?

Ukraine ambassadors for peace are back with more prog-metalcore mayhem in what is their EuroSound swansong after previously competing in 2022.

United Kingdom - Architects ‘Whiplash’ (Epitaph) 

Metalcore veterans joined with Jordan Fish (ex-BMTH) to unleash their fury. They’ve never won EuroSound though so their fans will need to come out in numbers.
