Despite rumours of a Silverchair, Powderfinger or Jet reunion, AC/DC have settled on a left field choice for international support on their upcoming Rock or Bust tour kicking off November 4th in Sydney. Swedish punk rock garage band, The Hives will entertain the crowd pre-Angus and co with Melbourne band, Kingswood also slipping onto the bill.

The-Hives

The Hives had this to say about landing the gig... “When we were 6 years old in Fagersta, Sweden we were struck for the first time by the lightning that is Rock n Roll. That lightning was AC/DC. Now many years later we find ourselves in a successful rock n roll band and going on tour with them. It couldn’t be better if we made it up. Life rules.”

To most people, The Hives are probably remembered for the track 'Hate to Say I Told You So' from their album, Veni Vidi Vicious which projected the band into mainstream in the early 2000's. Known as being one of the most energetic and best live acts across the world, The Hives last toured the country as part of the 2014 Big Day Out Festival.

Whether an AC/DC audience will endear themselves to The Hives may be another matter?
