You know when you find the right formula for making music and eveything just clicks?

That's the year Sydney alt rockers Closure had with the release of debut EP The Sweet Suffering. From there, the foursome played a stack of shows including a truly memorable headliner before jumping onstage at Good Things Festival as the local band for the Sydney leg.

With plenty more in the pipeline, let's see what else the band were listening to with the next #WoSYearInReview...

WHICH AUSTRALIAN BAND CAN’T YOU GET ENOUGH OF?

It has to be SPEED. The sense of community that they have created within Australia and abroad is something that we resonate with strongly.

BEST GIG YOU PLAYED THIS YEAR AND WHY?

We have been fortunate enough to play a lot of really special shows this year, but our headline show in November was a moment we will never forget. It was our first headline show in 4 years and hearing the crowd sing our songs back to us was truly an unexplainable feeling.

TELL US ABOUT A CAREER HIGHLIGHT YOU HAD IN 2025

Releasing our Debut EP The Sweet Suffering in July this year was a huge turning point for us as people and as a band. We worked so hard on creating a true representation of how we’ve always wanted Closure to be.

WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATE OF NEW MUSIC

New music is exciting, experimental and more creative than ever. We are really proud to be a part of it.

ANY SNEAK PEEKS OF INBOUND PLANS NEXT YEAR

2025 has been a really special year for us, and we’re so grateful. Heading into 2026, we’ve got some exciting touring and release plans that we can’t wait to share with you.

BEST ADVICE GOING INTO 2026

The best advice I can give is to take every opportunity that comes your way. Take risks, make bold moves, and don’t be afraid to stand out. Above all, stay true to yourself and the art you create.
