Watch Mark Morton's hauntingly appropriate video for 'Cross Off' feat. Chester Bennington

Our mind were blown when we came across Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's solo collaboration with the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The song, titled 'Cross Off' comes from his new album Anesthetic which is out now (our review here) and we didn't expect to see a music video for his one, for obvious reasons, but the way this has been shot to include subtle references to the departed is so haunting beautiful, we're glad he did.

The video sees a bloke struggling to fight against an invisible foe (mental illness metaphor maybe) and there are cutaway shots of Mark and co. playing around in the background, but there are also cutaways to a microphone with no one standing behind it, which obviously go to show they wanted to include Chester in some way shape or form considering his vocals are on the song. And they've nailed it.

Something similar was done during Prophets of Rage's performance at Download Festival 2018 when the band started playing 'Like A Stone', the spotlight was shining down on a vacant microphone where Chris Cornell once stood and the entire crowd in attendance sang along. Chills. Such a small gesture, but it definitely doesn't go unrecognised.
