The Smashing Pumpkins Are Back And They've Gone Retro!

After teasing us online for a while now, The Smashing Pumpkins have emerged with not one, but two new songs for us to froth over which is definitely going to boost your Saturday spirits for sure! The first song is 'CYR' and it sounds like a groovy soundtrack for a dark 80's film. Frontman Billy Corgan shares:

“CYR is dystopic folly. One soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn't possible with faith.”

Next up is 'The Colour of Love' and it follows along similar veins of 'CYR' with that electro-groove trend. The band have just recently signed to Sumerian Records and have confirmed an album, with details to be released down the track. It's definitely quite a turn from their 2018 release, Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / Lp: No Past. No Future. No Sun, but going off these two tracks, could the Pumpkins be releasing an electro pop record? Guess we'll find out soon enough...
