The Sleepyheads Team Up with Brissie Band Bugs on New Single 'Nihilist'

Tassie indie rock outfit The Sleepyheads are reawakened from the turmoil of the past year with their infectious new single. Teaming up with Connor Brooker, who fronts Brisbane indie/rock outfit Bugs, 'Nihilist' features prolific hooks that, together alongside a catchy singalong chorus, makes for a feelgood summertime single.

Vocalist/guitarist Pat Broxton shares the track's inspiration:

“Nihilist was written in mid 2020, it’s a bit of a tongue in cheek observation of just how completely f**ked the world was at that point in time. Once we got into the studio in early 2021, I really felt like the song needed a bit of a change in the second verse, that was when I hit Connor up and he was absolutely great at adding his personality to it.”

The song gives The Sleepyheads some extra buzz as they prepare for their opening set with Semantics next week. Which I'm sure is going to keep these guys at the forefront of your mind as you hit repeat on this bangin' track and anticipate what else they've got coming at us as we head into brighter days.
