That Metallica XX Countdown Has Been Revealed...
A mysterious website called metallicaxx.com appeared over the weekend with a countdown and it sent fans into a frenzy trying to guess what the Metallica guys would be announcing at the end of it all, and, well, it's finally here!!!!
The guys have revealed they'll be... umm, well this is a little awkward, they'll be headlining five music festival across America including Epicenter, Rockville, Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life and Aftershock... Two different sets across two nights.
FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, METALLICA WILL BE HEADLINING ALL FIVE US ROCK FESTIVALS PRODUCED BY DANNY WIMMER PRESENTS. TWO DIFFERENT NIGHTS AND TWO DIFFERENT SETS FOR A TOTAL OF TEN AMAZING HEADLINING PERFORMANCES FROM THE WORLD’S BIGGEST BAND. WITH ADDITIONAL BIG-NAME ARTISTS STILL TO BE ANNOUNCED, CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL OR CHOOSE THEM ALL! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO SEE METALLICA AT A NORTH AMERICAN FESTIVAL NEXT YEAR!
Following their shock Australian Tour postponement after James Hetfield's readmission to rehab, I don't know how to feel about this news just yet. With no rearranged dates planned just yet, surely he'd need more time to make sure he was ok to perform?! But also, then again, maybe we're about to hear/see something soon about rearranged dates.
Not going to start fights or instigate anything just yet, but, I kinda feel it's a little too soon to be announcing more shows for next year in my personal opinion, that's all. There's ten shows they'll be headlining in the states now, they had 6 in Australia + their New Zealand show so, you know, it's less pressure to do shows here right?
