SPITE Channel Meshuggah on 'Proper One'

4 min read

We are literally days away from the release of SPITE's highly anticipated record Dedication To Flesh. Fans have been respectfully patient after the drop was shifted from July 22 to August 19 via Rise Records.

The deathcore community are waiting with baited breath for this one to land after the sheer caliber of the singles released so far. The modern heavy sound that SPITE have stewed up is completely experimental and inceptive. If you want to play catch-up, jump into tunes ‘Made To Please‘, ‘Caved In‘, ‘Hangman‘ and title-track 'Dedication To Flesh'.

Fourth single 'Proper One' is your final prelude before the LP drops this Friday and the best way to describe it is 'Meshuggah gone deathcore'. SPITE truly channel the Swede prog-metal Gods both vocally and instrumentally without sliding into true djent-mode. However, the mathcore features ensue from where some of their preceding singles touched sides. 'Proper One' strikes the exact right balance of power and anxiety.
