While the metal community impatiently awaits for System of a Down to hit the studio again to follow up their double album release Mezmerize/Hypnotize from wayyy back in 2005, guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian's side project Scars on Broadway have been working on their own new material and their latest single has just been released. It should also be mentioned the band have undergone a lineup and name change and will be called Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway moving forward, an ideology Daron came up with when he explained to a fan o his Instagram account:

“Nobody quit. When I first started Scars, I always said that it would be different line-ups from album to album. Depends on the type of direction I want to take. Different musicians work for different styles. That is partly why I added my name in front of the band’s.”

The track 'Lives' comes from the band's forthcoming album Dictator, their follow up to 2008's self-titled release (only a cheeky 10 years later) which will finally get unveiled upon the world on July 20th.

Thoughts?
