Calling all OG pop punk fans, if you think of bands like blink-182, Sum 41, The Ataris, New Found Glory, The Offspring and more from that late 90s/early 2000s era, you're gonna wanna take a listen to South African foursome The Shabs and their new offering 'Can You Hear Us at the Back' which also comes from the band's album of the same name which will be released on March 1st.

The band from Cape Town act have allowed us to Premiere the new video below which they say is dedicated to the bands and scene mentioned above as bassist Ryan McArthur claims:

“The lyrics in the video are made out of stickers of bands (mostly 90s punk bands) that we loved, looked up to and imitated as teenagers. It's our homage to the bands that ultimately set our lives on this path.”

And it's great to see references to blink, The Sums, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, The Offspring, Bad Religion and many more, so much so, you'll be trying to work out which sticker belongs to which band while watching it. The song itself is also about life when you first start out in a band:

“We wrote this song about the dichotomy of being in a band. On one hand it's a job with a lot of struggles, uncertainties and rejection, which most people never see. But on the other hand, we get to do what we love, share our message and make our inner 16-year-olds proud.”
