Napalm Death Sneak In Crushing Single 'Narcissus' Into 2021 + Announce Mini-Record

It certainly hasn't been long since chaos-bringers Napalm Death spilled their guts on us in 2020 with their savage Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism record (our review here). The UK grindcore outfit have been challenging social norms and never shying away from political injustice since the early '80s - just read our interview with Mark 'Barney' Greenway to get a feel for their lyrical personality.
The heavy music pioneers decided they weren't going to see 2021 out without dropping some new music for us. Napalm Death have released single 'Narcissus' which will feature on the just announced upcoming mini-album Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes, out February 11th, 2022 via Century Media Records.
On the new record, Barney says:
“You can certainly consider Resentment Is Always an extension of the Throes… album. We had long since wanted to put a mini-album out – in the spirit of the old days – and found we had enough quality tracks even after all the Throes... bonus tracks to do that. Hopefully this mini holds some nice twists in its own right for people, and certainly covering “People Pie” by Slab! made us really stretch ourselves, which feels great artistically. In the end, resentment is certainly seismic – it can trigger the complete erosion of humanity in many situations. That was the point that I really wanted to hammer home overall.”
'Narcissus' is actually quite long for a Napalm Death song, spanning an enormous three-minutes (if you're a fan, you'll know this is long for grindcore Gods. You'll find the intro is quite slow considering their usual style too, as the band take their time delving into their signature chaotic style. The single develops into a immense carnage and carries on the ethos left from Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism.
