Remember that late 90s/early 2000's band Fountains of Wayne? No? Okay, what about that cheesy pop punk American Pie-esque tune 'Stacey's Mom' that sounds more like Bowling For Soup? Yep, that's it. Well, guess what? Fountains of Wayne frontman Adam Schlesinger has recently passed at the ripe age of 52, from Coronavirus complications.

The singer was also well known for penning alt-rock music for various tv shows and films. He penned a track in the 1996 film That Thing You Do, starring Tom Hanks (who as we all know also contracted Coronavirus), which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.

Seven years later, 'Stacey's Mom' came along and...the rest is history.
