Five North Unveil 'This Mess' Music Video/Short Film

We told you to expect big things from this band (hence why they appeared in our Pop Punk Bands to Watch in 2020 article) and now you can see the talent and genius that Five North have behind them with their official music video for 'This Mess'.

In the short film, the boys are on the run from a deranged slasher and the end result, well, is a pretty bloody good if you ask me with frontman/guitarist Tyler Posey showcasing some exceptional acting skills alongside bassist Kyle Murphy and our very own Australian drummer Scott Eckel.

On the new video's conception, Scott shared some behind the scenes stories with us, revealing:

Filming the video was definitely different to what I was used to. Originally, Tyler & I started having some day beers in his house and just started brainstorming video ideas, and eventually it started turning into this weird, cheesy, teen slasher horror abomination haha. We wanted to make it as ridiculous as possible really.

When we finally shot it (in Joshua Tree), we got the car scene done and the accident scene, and all dialogue was basically made up on the spot. We started the green scene shots the next morning, and basically got shut down and fined for filming at our Air B&B. So.... we found a new location, moved everything and had to basically make up new ideas that day. That’s where everything sort of went weird and chaotic, but it worked!

If you're not all over Five North yet, revisit our chat with Scott to find out about the band and their future (as well as his other US-based musical project MAKEOUT)
