Five Finger Death Punch Keep Reclamation Of Music Flowing with Best Of Vol. 2 Announcement

This is not deja vu. It may seem like we announced that Five Finger Death Punch had announced a greatest hits release earlier in the year but your eyes do not deceive you! The Las Vegas Knuckleheads have announced their Best Of Vol. 2 set for release on October 24th via Better Noise Music with even more re-recorded versions of the band's highly successful catalogue! And they aren’t coming back alone once more!
Recruiting Su-Metal of the iconic Japanese Kawai Metal band BABYMETAL, FFDP have released a re-recorded version of ‘The End’ from their 2022 release Afterlife to follow up the band's first lot of re-recordings from July this year and helps the band continue to celebrate their 20 year anniversary. Whilst the 2025 version of the 2022 track may not seem incredibly different for the most, the new level of clarity in the bands production allows layers to shine in a new light that is only lifted further by the feature of one of modern Metals most distinguishable voices in Su-Metal. The song marks a key moment in the band's career as the closing track from their 2022 album, as to this day it is the last song the band has released chronologically (if you disregard the bonus tracks from 2024's Afterlife Deluxe) but fittingly, this re-recording of ‘The End’ marks a new beginning for the band who after having their masters for the catalogue sold from underneath them are embarking on regaining their material.
When speaking about the opportunity to be a part of FFDP's 20th anniversary celebrations, Su would mention how much of an honour it would be to cross paths with the Vegas crew after playing festivals together in 2015.
“Five Finger Death Punch and BABYMETAL had performed at the same overseas festival back in 2015, so I was really happy thinking they might have remembered me from then.”
Going further to speak about her time recording, Su explains that the words she sings in this feature are only inspired by the original and just what kind of approach needed to be taken for an already established tune.
“I sang Japanese lyrics inspired by and based on the original lyrics of “The End,” and spent a lot of time experimenting to figure out what kind of voice would best suit such a deep, cool track. My favorite part of the song is the flow from the section starting with “Negai o kakete” right after the chorus into the break — I loved how my voice gradually got covered and engulfed by Ivan’s growl, which gave me chills. I hope listeners will enjoy that moment as well.”
The ferocity of these two power houses is the ultimate coming together of bands that dominated the 2010s with so much left to prove to the world and those dedicated to the causes. As the band continues to take back what is rightfully theirs, Five Finger Death Punch have shown that they are very far from their end.
