Wake Up! Currents Are Back With 'It Only Gets Darker'

Currents have surprised the metalcore community today with the strike of what we hope is a new album cycle. After conquering the world with explosive record The Death We Seek from 2023. The album saw the U.S. outfit tour the world a few times over, including a couple of Aussie runs, notably their more recent co-headliner with deathcore demons Chelsea Grin.

Guitarist Chris Wiseman is on double duties, having also just released Shadow of Intent's latest record Imperium Delirium a few weeks ago. Either way, the wise man has gotten some of the best music of the year out in a one month block. For the old school fans, worth a throwback to his side-project with Fit For A King's Ryan Kirby on Our Eternity. Anyway moving along - following menacing singles like 'So Alone' and 'Remember Me', Currents' The Death We Seek really left a mark on their fans, so there's big expectations for their next era.

Overnight Currents have released new track 'It Only Gets Darker' which continues on naturally from where they left off instrumenally, however vocalists Brian Wille and Christian Pulgarin went way deeper and darker. With signature tuning and flow, Currents have managed to stun with this 2025 release, suggesting there might be a heavier release in the works.

The blistering single sees Currents double-down on the breakdowns and deliver an impeccable follow-up to their third record. Can you handle the next wave?
