BABYMETAL Blow Expectations with Slaughter To Prevail Collaboration 'Song 3'

The new Babymetal album, METAL FORTH, is shaping up to be one of the year’s hottest releases as they combine their Fox God powers with some of metal’s biggest acts. New single ‘Song 3’ is a collaboration with Russian deathcore merchants Slaughter to Prevail, making this a trilingual headbanging dance fest.
The song kicks off with a hyper aggressive staccato intro with Alex Terrible growling the song’s Japanese refrain. It takes on a more familiar sound when SuMetal joins in on lead vocals. Musically it’s deathcore on the verses before that Babymetal technicolor polishes the chorus. As you’d expect it’s the heaviest Babymetal has ever sounded, while it’s more nuanced that the usual Slaughter bludgeoning. But that’s not all! Trivium maestro Matthew K Heafy plays the shamisen on the track, adding vibes reminiscent of his Ibaraki project.
Both bands won fans over at their recent performances at KNOTFEST Australia - relive the chaos with our After Film!
Then there’s the video! MomoMetal takes the growls as a young student is bullied at school. STP are shown jamming in a classroom while BabyMetal dances in a dark room with neon lights. When they join forces, the ladies help Alex with his weight and martial arts training. He’s victorious over the bullies (played by his bandmates) in the most BabyMetal way possible.
‘Song 3’ is the fourth song we’ve heard from METAL FORTH, thanks to the release of their collaborations with Electric Callboy, Tom Morello and Poppy. Peeping the tracklist you’ll see there’s songs featuring Spiritbox, Bloodywood and Polyphia on the album, making this truly a global celebration of Babymetal.
There's also been a production delay which has now pushed the release of METAL FORTH back to August 8, 2025. Pre-Order here.
