Alien Weaponry offer fans a brutal history lesson in 'Ahi Kā' music video

Its no secret, we LOVE the Alien Weaponry lads since discovering them before Download Festival and have been in awe of everything they've done, including playing with some of metal's biggest names, across the globe, all before the majority of them have even reached the age of 18.

The guys write songs in English and their own native tongue, which gives fans an opportunity to learn more about the Maori culture, through metal, which also serves as a way for the band to do the same too as we found out when we spoke with frontman Lewis de Jong a little while back:

Henry and I are from Ngati Pikiāo descent, which is a multi-tribe in New Zealand. We both grew up speaking multi-language. When we started writing songs, we wrote in the two languages and that helped us getting back into it and connect with our culture and history.

Their new video for '' continues that tradition of looking back into New Zealand's history with a story that'll certainly shock and surprise you though:

In 1952, in preparation for a Royal visit by Her Majesty the Queen, the Auckland City Council, in a misguided attempt to beautify the city, evicted the local Ngāti Whātua people from their village at Ōkahu Bay and burned it to the ground.

Combine that brutal story with a heavy as fuck soundtrack and you've got the makings of a lesson that'll leave you completely and utterly gobsmacked.
