Alexisonfire Reveals Raw And Revitalising Single, 'Reverse The Curse'
Are you an Alexisonfire fan? Have you pre-ordered their fifth studio record Otherness, out June 24, 2022 via Dine Alone Records / Cooking Vinyl Australia? If the answer is no, you may need to sort out your priorities. After hearing lead-single ‘Sweet Dreams of Otherness‘, the post-hardcore group have shared a second single off the LP, this one titled 'Reverse The Curse'.
The new single is raw and in parts, equally heavy. Alexisonfire unload an indie post-hardcore sound that sits toward the end of the forthcoming record. 'Reverse The Curse' comes alive with distorted riffs and George Pettit's unclean vocals that brings an edge to the revitalisation of this band. Of course, the track isn't complete without Dallas Green's signature cleans.
On the single, Pettit comments:
"'Reverse The Curse' is a poetic commentary on facing one's demons anchored by a gigantic, Kyuss-worshiping riff. Some riffs stick around for a while until they make sense. 'Reverse The Curse' has existed in one form or another since Crisis. There was even a version that we used as the original 'Young Cardinals' but that one wasn't meant to be. It found its way to creation during our Covid rehearsals and I'm glad it's finally coming to light."
