If ever there was an interview to read while sitting on the shitter, this is it.

Not in a million years did I ever think that the filth and fury of Czech goregrind luminaries Gutalax would ever reach these fine shores, but not only are they making the monumental trek to the great land down under, they’re visiting every state and territory this fine land has to offer.

On the eve of their first ever trip to Australia, Wall of Sound hit up the porta-loo crowd-surfing filth mongers for a quick back and forth on what to expect when they get here. Best arm yourself with Covid levels of dunny rolls. This will be an all time tour of this great southern land.

G’day Gutalax legends. Thanks for your time answering these questions. I am truly excited to see you on Australian shores.

Hey hola, thanks a lot, we are very excited to play in Aussie for the first time ever!!!

For those of us who are new to your band, how would you describe the Gutalax live experience?

We are boy band from Czech Republic who is playing a disco music and who is loving dance while we play. And of course - All in our shitty way :)

When starting this band, did you think it would become the globally recognised phenomenon it is today?

Haha, no way. We are still shocked and surprised how it happened. We play shitty music and we are very bad instrumentalists. Hahaha. Music taste of the world is falling down and that's our time, hahaha.

This is a pretty extensive tour. Very rarely does a tour visit every state in Australia. Are there any parts of Australia you’re particularly excited about to see?

I am personally looking forward to see everything, cause of our first time in your country. So I am curious about a big city life, cuties monuments, local food and also a countryside life and traditions (if there will be time).

And I am very very looking forward to visit the Dead Centre (Blackened Festival). Is it calling Dead Centre, right?

Yep it's in the Dead Centre of Australia, so you'll be seeing much more than the usual tour. I understand you’re fans of Crocodile Dundee. The tour will take you to Blacken Open Air Festival in the Northern Territory, Dundee’s home state. What was it about the movie that you liked so much?

Haha, yeah that's why I am so excited for this part of Australia. It's look absolutely same I was imagine how the wild nature in Aussie is looking. And yeah I know it also from Dundee movies which I am a big fan of (first two parts, the rest is bad). Hope I will be not killed by alligator or any huge snake, haha. Really looking forward being there and join this part of your country.

It's the drop bears you need to worry about most... Given the nature of your music and the beautiful vulgarity that you sing about, is there anything that grosses you out and makes your skin crawl?

A lot of things actually. For example a modern rap music way 😨.

‍I’ve heard that Maty is a mad horror movie fan, as well as an avid VHS collector. What is Maty’s favourite in his collection, and what is his holy grail VHS horror movie?

Yeah I am. I am collecting all movie compacts and genres, but VHS is my pure love. I am very much into the old school horrors (80s, 90s) and in old school movies from that time at all (for example also action B movies) and the atmosphere of VHS quality it's actually helping to enjoy the movie even more with that 80s feeling. I have about 2500 VHS in my collection (all genres, but horror and action movies are in 70% of) and my collection is still grooving. It's a big addition, like collecting of vinyls, or drinking beers. you can't stop when you once started.

Do you have any final words for the Gutalax fans of Australia?

I am really looking forward to meet you all, play our shitty music for you, talk together and having a nice time together. I am also looking forward to see your country for the first time ever, I am sure we gonna love it! See you all very soon, can't wait ❤️.
