The y’allternative, genre-bending Bilmuri brought the second sold-out show of their Australian Motor Tour to Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide for an unforgettable night of moshing, singalongs, sax solos, and absolute hog-crankin’ chaos. Wall of Sound were there to capture the action.

For the uninitiated, Bilmuri is the musical project of Johnny Franck, ex-vocalist and guitarist for Attack Attack, who has taken the alternative music scene by storm with a unique blend of heartfelt lyricism, genre-defying sound, and a heavy dose of chaotic memes and absurdist film clips. The cool wintery vibes outside were left at the door as Lion Arts Factory transformed into a sweaty, heaving sauna—bodies packed wall-to-wall. UK pop-punk outfit South Arcade kicked off with infectious energy, winning over the room with catchy hooks, a tight performance, and undeniable charm.

With only a two-act lineup, Bilmuri wasted no time turning things up to eleven. Delivering a high-octane set packed with crowd favourites, riffs, sax, chaos, charisma, and a few poor attempts at an Aussie accent—Johnny Franck and his band, including Gabi Rose on saxophone and vocals, Reese Maslen on guitar, Xavier Ware on drums, and new bass player Aino Muraishi, captivated the room with ease, and looked like they were having a great time doing it.

This was a set that showed exactly why Bilmuri have earned their cult following—and why they need to come back to Australia soon and play even bigger rooms. Their debut in Adelaide proved there’s more than enough demand for a return trip, and they’ve left fans hanging for the next round of chaos.
