As we're all aware Bring Me The Horizon are returning to Australia in September to finally perform their new album That's The Spirit for us and it was announced yesterday that Architects and '68 have scored themselves the opening act positions for the trip down under. Some of you may already be aware of Architects and the fact they've been killing it lately, especially with a new album out at the end of the month, but not many people would know the importance of why '68 were added to the tour though. So this is a look at why these two bands are the perfect additions to the September visit for BMTH.
Architects
The Brighton metalcore five piece was formed back in 2004 and from there they've managed to build a growing empire of fans across the world with every album released. Arguably the record which was most well received is 2011's The Here and Now and each passing record has in many ways surpassed the last in regards to progression, aggression and perfection. With their new album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us due for release on May 27th its easy to see why these guys are itching to get on the road and return to Australia to perform for their fans here. If you haven't sat down and given these boys a proper listen, get onto it asap before the tour hits. BMTH will have their work cut out of them to top these lads' performance each night who will definitely be bringing the heavy That's The Spirit was lacking...
'68
A relatively new band with stacks of history behind them. This won't be their first visit to Australia however, we last saw the Josh Scogin fronted two-piece on tour with Hellions and Capzise last year and from what we witnessed first hand that night, it's no surprise why they've been included on such a huge line up. While Josh fronted and left such amazing bands like Norma Jean and The Chariot, he is the type of musicians where everything he manages to touch or put his name down for, turns to gold. Together with drummer Michael McCellan the sound they have been putting out is hard to explain other than, experimental rock & rock which sounds distorted as fuck, but somehow just works. We caught up with Josh on their previous tour for a chat about his new music venture (you can listen to it here) and on top of that, '68s new album is set for release later in the year.
