It's a little bittersweet and they just unveiled a new EP, but Australian alternative/punk trio Columbus will be closing the pages on their chapter as we know it. To celebrate their latest EP, Driving in the Dark, the band - Alex Moses (guitar/lead vocals), Lauren Guerrera (bass/vocals), and Daniel Seymour (drums) - will embark on one final national tour to play their energetic brand of punk to the fans that have followed along through the years.

This upcoming tour has been in the works throughout much of the pandemic (Columbus were also set to support Stand Atlantic on their now-cancelled Australian tour) and will now act as a delightful send-off for the band. Guerrera shares:

“This tour has literally been in the works for 2 or 3 years but has continually been pushed back due to the state of the world. The thought of touring again still feels like a distant dream, so catch me crying over having a bit of normality back at every show, probably.”

While we're a little disheartened (their new EP Driving in the Dark is a solid mix of ultra-catchy alternative/punk!), I'm sure this won't be the last we'll hear of Lauren, Alex and Dan. With Dan's drumming duties in Waxflower increasing steadily this year, we wish the three of them all the best in life after Columbus, whether that lies in music or elsewhere.

Their final tour kicks off in Sydney next weekend with Melbourne rock outfit Reside in support — don't miss out! Grab your tickets below.
