Better Lovers Will Make Australia its ‘Sacrificial Participant’ in Live DEMONstration Debut

“…a mammoth sea monster dragging the victims to the abyss of volcanic underwater havoc in the shape of mathcore, metalcore, thrash and delightful devastation.” – Will Oakeshott, Better Lovers’ Highly Irresponsible album review, Wall Of Sound, 18th October 2025.
‘Deliver Us From Life’! It’s finally happening, the metallic mathcore maniacs Better Lovers will leave Australia in a path of destruction with their live Down Under debut January 2026.
Featuring former members of the defunct southern metalcore trailblazers Every Time I Die, mathcore pioneers The Dillinger Escape Plan, and deathcore devastators Fit For An Autopsy (as well as END) – Better Lovers have exploded onto the heavy metal macrocosmos releasing the (both) critically acclaimed EP God Made Me An Animal and frantic full-length Highly Irresponsible within 15 months of each other. Stages throughout the northern hemisphere have undergone remarkable runination over the past two years, but the world is hungry for more.
Adding more sizzle to our summer, vocalist Greg Puciato, bassist Stephen Micciche, drummer Clayton "Goose” Holyoak, and guitarists Will Putney and Jordan Buckley will make their ‘Lovers powerful premiere blasting off on Friday 23 January in Brisbane. The frenzied five-piece will then destroy Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Belgrave, finishing on Friday 30th of January in Adelaide.
Better Lovers will leave you feeling too alive amongst the dead after their schizophrenic showcases.
Joining them will be the new-fangled nu-metal shoegazers Split Chain, who are renowned for their visceral and immersive live sets which will be debuted in Australia also. The self-confessed “Dreamo” stars’ first LP motionblur (released by Epitaph Records in 2024) was an unexpectedly surprise hit.
The final incredible ingredient comes in the form of blackened screamo sorcerers, Brisbane’s brilliant Blind Girls. Undertaking a terrorific touring tenacity on the back of the third record An Exit Exists, this very publication defined their live cacophonous exhibition as: “…these Queenslanders inject an enraged severity into their showcase that is brilliantly bewitching.”
In the mighty words of Jordan Buckley himself (when describing Better Lovers assault):
"Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”
Let’s be Highly Irresponsible…
