Although 2024 hasn’t been the easiest year of my life to navigate, it has most certainly been a year of immense growth both within my personal life, and as a writer for Wall of Sound, with heavy music remaining as a constant, keeping me grounded and excited for what the future may hold.
With what has shaped up to be another phenomenally large year for heavy music, the community as a whole has seemingly edged closer to receiving the recognition from the mainstream world that it deserves than ever before, which is a huge win. Onwards and upwards for heavy music in 2025!

BIGGEST CAREER ACHIEVEMENT IN 2024?
2024 has been another remarkable year, one that fills me with immense pride as I reflect on the work I’ve accomplished at Wall of Sound. The achievement that tops the list however would have to be my interview with Shavo Odadijan from System Of A Down and Seven Hours After Violet.
NEXT BIG AUSSIE ACT TO WATCH IN 2025?
They’ve only just popped in recent months but I dare say that Melting is worth keeping an eye on. With a few strong singles and a bunch of live shows now under their belt, this Melbourne based group has quickly garnered a strong reputation to build upon throughout the year ahead.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2025?
The upcoming Lorna Shore tour in February is bound to kick off the year in unforgettable style. Just two days later, you’ll find me crying in the pit at Void of Vision’s final hometown show. And let’s not forget the annual Knotfest celebration, which promises to be incredible as Slipknot marks their 25th anniversary. I am also looking forward to losing my Metallica live show virginity, which is well overdue.
Also, can 2025 please be the year that Left To Suffer tours Australia?!
