Not long now until Alexisonfire and Underoath make their triumphant return to Australian shores for a joint headliner tour to remember. To get fans all kinds of excited, we asked Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire) and Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath) a series of questions about the tour, their Aussie fanbase and touring support GEL.

Both Alexisonfire and Underoath have released new music in recent years - what would you say is your fav song from the opposite artist?

Wade: We both have songs on our new records called 'Survivors Guilt'. So I’m gonna have to go with that!

Spencer: I’m not really sure I can answer that. I’m just glad they are back! New music from any of our peers is a win, I’m stoked those dudes are ripping again

Now we love a good throwback - what was the first song you heard from the other artists that made you go, 'holy shit, these guys are good!'?'

Wade: I think we played together for the first time in 2003. I remember loving the tune 'It’s a Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door'. The choir chant is so catchy.

Spencer: To be honest in America it took longer to come around so for me it wasn’t till the '06 Crisis album until I knew about them. And I know it’s cliché to say but that 'This Could Be Anywhere in the World' song def made me pay attention to them

You've toured Australia so many times, you should just move down here. But what's one core memory that comes to mind about a show/tour/festival you've played here that's stuck with you for life?

Wade: First show we ever played in Australia a dude ripped the air conditioner out of the ceiling of the venue while crowd surfing. It’s up there as one of the craziest shows we have ever played.

Spencer: Idk, it’s always different every time we come down but I for sure remember Australia really being the first country outside of America to really really show love for us and we took note of that. Like damn, 'Australia really shows up for us and gives a fuck let’s go back,' so we always have

Any sneak peeks or surprises we can expect with the Australian setlist?

Wade: Our bass player Steele decides the setlist every night before we play. It’s always changing. We don't know what it’s gonna be until about an hour before the show.

Spencer: We are playing a lot more than They’re Only Chasing Safety. That part of our touring has ended and this tour was supposed to be in '24 while we were celebrating that 20 years. So this is us going back into that set which we won’t be doing again for a long ass time.

Let's not forget GEL, what's something readers should know about the group before we see them opening for you?

Wade: I’m a fan of the band and happy to have them out with us. Make sure you come early and check them out.

Spencer: I’ve never seen them or heard them, I’ve seen the name around but I gotta be honest with you and let you know this will also be my first time hearing them. But I always watch the bands that tour with us so I’m excited to see/hear something new

Fun One: You've just sworn in under oath, so you can't lie, but what's one song you'd personally like to fire from your setlist?

Wade: In all sincerity I like playing all of them. It’s the way people react to the songs that’s important.

Spencer: 'Some Seek Forgiveness' for obvious reasons and I’m content with losing cause it’s the cheesiest song we’ve ever written
